The focus for writing this year is instructional writing.  On Tuesday Room 6 wrote instructions on how to make a bed.  Here are some examples of the children's amazing writing that I found quite entertaining in some places...

How to make a bed – instructional writing 21/4

YOUR ENEMY THE BED

Have you got a bed so dirty that it can’t look in the mirror? Well my friend or foe you need my help! I’ll give you seven simple pimple steps and your bed will be spick and span in no time. So get your bottom off the ground and get to work!

Step 1: Old sheets out new sheets in.  For starters you need to strip your sheets and get a new one from the cupboard and lay it out on the mattress.
Step 2: Tuck in the corners.  After you’ve laid it out you need to tuck in the corners extra tight!
Step 3: Puffy Pillows! Now it’s time for other pillows so get 1 or 2 fresh covers and wrap them around the inside.
Step 4: Make sure it’s even.  Once you’ve done that make sure both sides are even.
Step 5: Duvet cover.  Now you have to lay the duvet over the sheet.
Step 6: Styling time! Now I’m getting to that part you can style your bed up with a variety of toys!
Step 7: Go and get your parents and say ”Isn’t it wonderful?” but your parents will probably say yes but you haven’t cleaned the rest of the room!

 HOW TO TIDY YOUR BED

Have you always had a bed that is sooooo completely ball smacked your mum doesn’t clean it? Well I can turn your bed into a bed of a king.
Step 1: You need to wipe every single thing on your bed then run like an athletic champion to your new sheets.
Step 2: Put your bottom sheet on your mattress because they’re both little friends. Now make sure you tuck in the bottom sheet.  Very good - otherwise you’re going to go back to where you started.
Step 3: Get your pillow and your pillowcase on top or when you go to bed you might roll out of your bed and fall into a dimension of uncomfortableness.
Step 4: Put on your top sheet that you get from the evil lair the cupboard and gently place the top sheet on top of everything else.
Step 5: Now this is the cozy part - put your magical duvet also on top of everything. Now for this snuggly masterpiece - make your dreams more magical and tuck it in!
Step 6: Now just incase have some extra blankets and if something happens, you might want to have cuddly toys in your bed to play with or have as company.
Step 7: Crawl into your bed, snore and fall asleeeeep!

Have you got a bed that has a war going on between messiness and cleanliness?  So listen to this! Step 1: Clear your bed and leave the dirty sheets in the wash. Step 2: Get some bottom sheets on, tuck it into the corners, sides and under the mattress.  Step 3: Neatly tuck your pillow into the case and then neatly put your pillow on your bed.  Step 4: Neatly tuck on the top sheet and check if it’s clean.  Step 5: Put on the MASSIVE duvet cover so you can have a soft bed.  Step 6: Put on some extra warm snuggly blankets, some soft toys, and some comfy cushions.  Step 7: You need to chillax and fall asleep and all of your problems will be solved.  And that’s how you make your bed.

STRIP YOUR BED AND PUT A FRESH DIAPER ON IT

Are you one of those human beings that has a bed so dirty that your going to move to a hotel any minute? Stop packing your bags! All you need to do is strip your bed and put a new fresh nappy on it!
Step 1: Firstly take your pillow off your bed by grabbing your pillow and chuck it on the ground your standing on.  But try not to stand on it.  Also, strip the sheet, duvet, and blankets off by pinching them and pulling them and put them in the washing machine – although after you do that – don’t look at your bed too much – because it’s naked!
Step 2: Now get a pillowcase and put it on top of your pillow by shaking it in just like you do when you’re about to drink a smoothie.
Step 3: Thirdly place your tidy, nice smelling sheet, blanket and duvet on the bed after they’ve been cleaned and dried by tucking them in.
Step 4: Congratulate yourself by having a sleep.
